Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.
Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to local officials.
Moscow has increased attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.
"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and applying sanctions," was stated in a public message.
He said that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.
Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.
A series of attacks struck power facilities and residential structures in the capital.
Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to local officials.
Local officials said the urban area experienced significant strikes overnight. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.
The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.
All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.
Authorities told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.
Officials stated utility staff and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
